1 year old!
I can't believe Andrew is already a year old! This past year has truly flown by! Casey and I continue to look at our boys in amazement of what God has given us. We love our little family! Andrew had an eventful birthday: first Daddy gave us a MUCH needed hair cut, then we took 1 year old pictures, then we opened our gift from Mommy, Daddy, and Abram, and then we pouted about the LSU game! :-) We had a great little party the next day at our house. We enjoyed everyone's company and missed those who couldn't make it! Here are some pictures of Andrew on his birthday (and one at his party....screaming at his cake). Hope you enjoy!

Recap
Wow, it has been an extremely long time since I've last updated the blog. Life has been moving at a million miles and hour (which I'm sure most of you can relate to). Here is a recap since I last updated:
1. I finished my second year of internal medicine at Earl K Long and started my dermatology residency with LSU-New Orleans (though I'm in Baton Rouge most of the time.) I really like dermatology. The schedule is much improved compared to the call schedule of internal medicine, but I'm having to get use to reading for 1-2 hours a day (usually after the boys go to bed)...it almost feels like medical school again with the deluge of information. So the countdown is ON! 34 months until I start my dermatology practice.....who knows where...only the Lord. I'm reminded of something Fr. Than said at our wedding...we don't know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future....it gives me peace at night knowing God will make a place for us.
2. Our Abram turned 3!!! I can't believe he is already 3 years old...and so smart! He is such a joy to watch everyday!
3. Andrew is crusing by his milestones....crawling, pulling up, babbling, cutting teeth and now will stand up on his own in the middle of the floor! He is such a wonderful gift to our family and we love watching him grow!
4. It's that time of year again....LSU football season. We love tailgating with family and frieds...hopefully you will join us!

Updates
Wow, it has been a while since I've visted you on here! Let's just say March was crazy busy and I wouldn't want to repeat...but I will have to next month. So I am taking some time tonight (both boys are asleep :-) ) to update the blog. 2 months worth of events...here goes!
Valentine's Day:
Abram made a card to go with some Sweet-Tarts for his friends at school.

I thought that it would be a great idea to have him use his thumb print to make hearts....only he LOVED putting his thumbprint everywhere! Here you can see a WHOLE PAGE of thumbprints (to go with the random ones on the furniture and floors!)
Gracie's Birthday Party!
Gracie turned 3 and it was so much fun!

Abram enjoyed watching the 'big boys' play and coloring with sidewalk chalk! Andrew stayed inside and was passed around!

Mardi Gras:
Casey and I brought the boys to their first ever Mardi Gras parade in Lafayette. We met Nana, Papa, and Gracie there! There was a long delay for the parade due to a train wreck...so Abram took a nap (on Daddy)! Thanks Daddy...you're the best!

Huck and Jill's Birthday!
Huck turned 60! We were not able to make it to Shreveport because Jill had to work, but we celebrated when they came to Baton Rouge the next weekend. It is always wonderful to spend time celebrating your life with your wonderful family! Casey did a fantastic job planning an unforgettable birthday for Jill!

Andrew's milestones!
Andrew has been busy smiling up a storm, sitting up, and starting to eat solids!!! He is such a wonderful gift!

Boys!
It is so much fun watching children grow! It is also difficult to try and be everything I want to be...a dedicated wife, loving mother, caring doctor...but I've always told myself to do what I feel God has called me to do (I know that He called me to be a wife, a doctor, and a mother) and so it is up to Him to figure it all out! Earlier this week I was putting the finishing touches on a lecture I'm giving next week, and I wanted to put a picture of the boys at the end of the powerpoint presentation. As you can see...a perfect picture wasn't going to happen...but it was picture perfect!

At the end of the day, I try to not give my 'leftovers' to anyone (the boys or Casey) and instead invest my all. And I must say...I've got the best people in the world to invest in!

3 months!

Andrew is 3 months and is a BIG boy...literally! We weigh 15 pounds! Andrew is smiling, cooing, holding his head up, and trying his hardest to keep tabs on his big brother!
About 1 week after turning 3 months, Andrew caught RSV (which our entire family likely had) but his little lungs had a much harder time with the virus than the rest of us. We ended up in the Pediatric ER on a Friday night and was subsequently admitted to the hospital for breathing treatments and observation. He handled it like a pro....and didn't even flinch when they placed the IV. We had a rough night especially since they made Andrew NPO (which meant no nursing) and were poking and proding him every hour. (It's hard to pacify a little nursling who isn't allowed to nurse!) After being discharged the next day, Andrew had a really tough night and Mommy almost brought him back to the ER. Instead, she lit the sick-call kit (a cross Fr. Cedric gave us for our wedding) and begged God to helped her little boy....and he is doing much better now. Praise God!
Thank you all for the prayers! Hopefully Andrew will be back to his adorable usual self in a quick few days and be back on track growing like a weed.
