Big Bed and other news

Well, it's official....we have a big boy on our hands. Abram has moved into his new bedroom and is sleeping in his new big boy bed (albeit the trundle part that is lower to the floor). He has been a champ in the transition! He LOVES that fact that when he wakes up in the mornings he can just crawl out of bed and come find mommy and daddy!

He has the BIGGEST grin on his face when he comes and finds us!

I'm a constantly amazed at how precious and blessed Abram is. He melts my heart about 15 thousand times:
Falling asleep while eating a sandwich...

crossing his feet at his ankles while he is eating a snack...

and especially when he sings me songs, gives Casey and I kisses until we are blue in the face....or my (favorite) when he kneels down next to Casey and I while we are praying!

I can only anticipate what the next blessing will bring into our lives whenever he/she decides to grace us with his/her presence!

Let's Have a Ball!

Balls were the theme for Abram's second birthday party. His cake had all of his favorite balls on it, the food was ball-shaped, and
we even made a "basketball" pinata!

Abram was blessed to have many friends and family make the party. Too bad it was rainy most of the day...we hung the pinata in the garage.

The kids had a great time breaking the pinata and searching for their favorite piece of candy...only my camera kept fogging up from the humidity outside.

All in all, it was a great time.

If you weren't able to make it (or the invitation didn't get to you since our mail lady is upset with me...another long story) I hate that we missed you!

Abram's Two!

Abram turned two years old! In typical Huckabee tradition, I took a picture as he woke up (he wasn't happy waking up that morning).

Afterwards, we got dressed and went to school. Mommy and Daddy had make cupcakes for Abram to bring to school. It was also another little boy's birthday that day, so Abram and his friends had lots of celebrating to do...and lots of snacks to eat.
I left my camera at school so Abram's teachers could snap a few shots during the day.

Here he is dancing to one of his favorite songs at school.

I got off early that day and since Daddy was working from home that day we got to go together to pick up Abram. His teachers had waiting for us to get there to do Abram's birthday snacks with the class. I think Abram was afraid that Mommy and Daddy were going to leave because he cried to whole time and refused to eat his cupcake.

As soon as we got in the car though, his cupcake was a goner.

At dinner, we let Abram put on his birthday hat from school and snapped some more pictures. It's hard to believe that my little man is already two! I'm looking forward to what the next few years hold for this precious blessing!

Bed of Roses

Life is definetly not always a bed of roses, but lately I keep getting daily reminders of how blessed I am...

an amazing supportive husband (
who sends me flowers when he's away and knows I'm running on empty),

a precious, loving, healthy son who does incredible things everyday (I LOVE watching him grow!), and a precious, active little blessing growing in my womb. I thank my God daily for all that he has blessed me with!

Balls, Balls, and More Balls

Abram has really begun to get into the ball stage of boyhood! He spots balls out everywhere we go...including school. He also knows where the balls are on the pages of his favorite books. But his favorite thing to do is play with the many balls we have around the house...baseballs, footballs, and basketballs.

He has also started taking the attachment off the vaccuum cleaner and use it as a bat...Casey and I take turns throwing the ball to him. His eye-hand coordination is better than his mommy's...he actually hits the ball it times!

All I can say is that it looks like we have many a ballgames in our future!

Getting Ready for #2

Abram has been so funny lately. He is learning to kiss my belly and say "baby," Daddy has revealed to Abram the name of his new sibling, and Abram has begun practicing for the new baby. Abram will randomly go get a diaper out of his room and try to put it on his Elmo doll....Too cute! We will see if he is this helpful when #2 actually comes home!

We're Going to the Fair!

This past weekend our church parish, St. Thomas More, had there annual Festival/Fair. We ran the 5K as a family (sort of...Daddy was WAY ahead of Mommy, Abram, and Baby Fruge...but they finished the race eventually!) on Saturday morning and then returned later that afternoon (After naps, of course) to ride some rides. Abram rode the Carosel and the Big Slide twice each! He seemed to have a really good time!

We also baked cupcakes for the Sweet Booth to sell. We made them to look like little pies. Daddy was big help (and actually did the lattice work better than Mommy)!
